Mira
abrí la noche con tu nombre
te hablo y la sombra
eleva su rama de perfume
entre los cuellos de las estrellas.
¿Qué palabras usé para explicar tus ojos?
Para habitar
sin el oleo del alma
en las profundidades del deseo.
No sé el significado del zodiaco
ni del pezón que observo sin anteojos
Tócame, no para sentir
la minúscula herramienta de la piel
sino para olvidar
que somos cosas invisibles –
rozándose entre si
como lo hace la noche
contra el alba,
como lo hace tu nombre
contra mi gemido.

The future does not care for poetry or ambiguity.
It thrives in pristine clear expressions of thought and action.
It despises the vagueness of unnatural associations.
The sinking sound
the crest of the red suppose
the eternal system
elected a song as carriage
of its power.
Grandiloquent expressions as the above will be ridiculed.
The concrete matter-of-fact will be the only subject of interest.
Poetry will slowly fade out of view as did the rotary dial.
The world of fact will flourish.
Doubt will dissipate, the psyche will be freed of contradiction.
In the future, the ex-poet will turn towards the objective.
Like a lion on a gazelle.
These are some of the last unruly poems to emerge.
The last bones to chew.
Savor them.

Todavía
hay posibilidad.
Desde la ventana
ver el diámetro
del destino.
Oír
a ciegas
la luz
caminando
sobre tu sien
adormecido.
Después de que
acabe la tierra –
permitir los pájaros
alinearse en
la cuerda
del corazón.
Y cuando
desaparezcan las ideas
en su lugar
depositaremos
el tibio espejo
de la piel.

Visualize
the first act
of violence
that gave meaning
to the word
‘violence’
the first dog
that symbolized the
genus of all dogs –
the moment
when abstract
was no longer
a word
but the whole history
of the world
Imagine
the timeless
before we gave
it a name
or happiness
before it
became a goal
or truth
when consciousness
was still ineffable
and nesting
Suppose
meaning
was the hardest
bone
and eternity
a living
cloud
Conceive
matter as the
drying spirit
or spirit
as the sleep
of atoms
Assume
if only once
that essence
is the entire
instant of life –
and death
is the entire
essence of poetry.

Hoy lo vi
un hombre que
inició de niño
terminó decadente
solipsista, alcohólico
hediondo a prehistórico, axila
barba torpe, luz diminuta
en sus ojos, un sobreviviente
hablándose a si mismo
en la esquina de la licorera;
helo ahí
un hombre que carga
la tela del cielo
como el perfume de su pene sucio
su boca llena de oscura leche
su amor único:
los ríos ardientes
que bajan por su garganta –
hoy en su más reciente
insulto a la humanidad
lo vi a sus ojos
esos dos oráculos negros
insípidos y libres
como un par de moscas
cogitando el nuevo apocalipsis;
helo ahí
el hombre derrotado
la cruz de sus arrugas
el crudo arroz de sus uñas
tomando su licor
bajo la frágil luna
del mundo sin paz.

Brush.
Faceless driver.
I keep replaying,
the violent curve –
my unlighted bicycle.
Pump ; drugged with
adrenaline…
bone crack pain coward
agonize no thoughts. I keep
replaying the scene,
the simple magnet of events.
I keep coloring the blood
against the asphalt,
drawing the feeling of crushed bone.
No thoughts and my eyes
on charcoal night.
To have died, doesn’t
seem so tragic now.
Death – finally!
Under the numinous
full moon!
