Born and raised in Costa Rica but have traveled quite a bit round the globe. I have lived in the United States, Sweden, Germany and currently reside in Denmark. I am currently poetry editor for Red Door Magazine.

I have refused from an early age any form of formal education, and resist the idea of having a ‘brilliant career’. I prefer for the moment to embrace the vicissitudes of being.

Because ultimately we are:

Me alegra, y recuerdo con cariño, el haber compartido con vos en un pedazo de tu formación: jóvenes, felices, sin nada que perder y con mucho tiempo libre. A pesar de que hoy cuento con esposa, hijos, hipoteca… aquellos tiempos forjaron mucho de lo que hoy soy, de mi escencia y mi cosmovisión. Un abrazo Pablito.

  18. the title of your blog reminds me of the existential state of nirvana or rather in arabic term ‘fanaa’ which basically means surrendering the self to the greater power… it may not have been your intention, yet i hope i am allowed to interpret it as such considering your words rejects the material and superficial world and strongly emerges the spiritual element of self

  30. Thank you for doing what many are afraid to do…you appear to be called to intrepid journey, (like all of us- if we will listen) summoned by the self to go and be what you are meant to be. You explore and illuminate the world to those you come in contact with only to further enlighten and inspire others to do the same. You are the embodiment of what I think about frequently. I see a lot of myself in your work. I to have no formal education, appreciate music, art, writing poetry, searching and learning philosophy. Somehow I manage to betray my hearts desire- incarnating life through words, language, prose.

  37. Pablo I have just discovered your site quite randomly… I was researching nihilism because I realised recently that I am a nihilist.

    I fucking love your website!!! Your poems and paintings are simply amazing. I am a poet too and I just returned from a visit to your home country, Costa Rica! I was there for six months and I had a very rich and interesting experience.

    So all in all I feel very lucky for having found your site. Not just lucky but inspired. As someone who likes to write poetry, paint, think and travel, I can certainly empathise with your perspective.

  51. you know what, dude? i think we are born with poetry and art within our souls. i do not think one can be “taught” to really “feel” their *own* art. sure, we can learn all about other people, etc. – get educated; but that will not create it. i agree with what you say whole-heartedly. i’ve been daydreaming since i can remember, and that’s where art is made.
