A Novel: The Underachiever

I’m excited to announce that my novel The Underachiever has been published by the New York-based publisher Spuyten Duyvil!

Synopsis:

A critically acclaimed author who has already published two successful novels finds himself haunted by dissatisfaction and paralyzing self-doubt. Desperate to match the literary brilliance of Cortázar, Pynchon, and Nabokov, the unnamed writer embarks on a creative odyssey, experimenting with various styles while wrestling with the limitations of language, the inevitability of death, and the vanity of seeking literary fame.

This novel is a profound exploration of the struggles artists face in their incessant quest for perfection and the arduous path toward finding their authentic voice. The Underachiever will resonate with anyone who has ever struggled with self-doubt, questioned their purpose, or longed for something beyond the ordinary.

Described as “a postmodern philosophical maze,” The Underachiever is a must-read for those who appreciate thought-provoking literature and the works of subversive authors such as Barthelme, DeLillo, Pessoa, and Danielewski, to name just a few.

Get your copy of The Underachiever and discover an unconventional story that challenges the very essence of creativity, ambition, and what it means to strive for greatness.

You can purchase it online directly from the publisher’s website: here.

The book is available internationally through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other booksellers. For readers in Denmark, you can find it on Saxo, or reach out to me directly if you’d like a signed copy.

3 Poems in Posit Journal

Delighted to have 3 poems published in the 35th edition of Posit journal. A special thanks to the editors for the brief editorial note accompanying my work:

Pablo Saborío’s poems sing with music and meaning, burning with “the fire / that only a human mouth // can ignite into language.” With stunning economy, his mellifluous words create worlds as intriguingly strange as they are resonantly familiar. Each of these poems is like a “house [that] hosts / an ecosystem of desires.” These poems of heart, hope, and subtle ideation expect the reader to be “writing / this by reading this” even as we embrace “uncertainty / as a tangible thing: // more actual than the mist / that blurs the horizon / after your thoughts arise.”
