Secret of Life

I woke up today reading
the Secret of Life
the stairway was the same
but the streets, oh the streets
they were building blocks of awe
molecular lumps alive with the wind
processes in motion
          like trees in a storm
every face was a map
charting the layers of the universe
scenes changed as propelled by engines of time
orchestration by a slow chaos
everything interconnected by invisible spokes
         why o why
must days like these
come to an end
tomorrow I must wake up
and open the first pages of
the Gates of Unknowing.

  1. I’ve had a few of those days. When you feels so small and insignificant, yet blessed, because you realize how amazing and complicated everything is and grasp the thought of how big the universe is. Very well described!

  2. An awesome poem that captures how overwhelming everything can be from the type of unique perspective that only comes along on the rarest of days. The type of day that then leaves one almost feeling sorry the next day as one cannot quite force oneself to grasp the fascination of what one remembers marveling at before. Great read, great blog.
